15 March 2022, Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental, Philippines - Gerry Y. Pepania, 25, shows of bangus (milkfish) he just sampled from the 'Norwegian style' fish cage that he is the caretaker of in the Mariculture Park off of the shore of Barangay Biasong in Lopez Jaena. Sampling of the stock in the cage helps determine when to harvest the fish and whether their feed needs adjusting.
Pepania says he prefers to work on the fish cages farming bangus (milkfish) rather than work in traditional fishing which is more unstable in terms of income.
