2024 AFGHANISTAN Farmer Field Schools
06 May 2024, Parwan province, Afghanistan - Details of a wheat field are being written by the farmers in the FFS class.
Farmer Field Schools (FFS) provides on-the-job training to farmers planting similar crops in the same area. It continues during an entire crop season and addresses all stages of plant growth and relevant agricultural practices, from the preparation of the soil to post-harvest processing. The overall goal of an FFS is to help farmers increase their yields while maintaining a healthy and balanced environment, by the application of knowledge-based solutions to the challenges they face. This programme is generously supported by USAID.
