Script On the first of his three-day visit to Brazil (11-13 September 2024), FAO Director-General QU Dongyu visited a cattle breeding farm, in the municipality of Santo Antônio de Leverger in Brazil’s west-central state of Mato Grosso, which has won acclaim for its innovative methods.

On September 12, FAO Director-General QU Dongyu participated in the G20 Task Force on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems held in Cuiaba as part of G20 Brazil 2024, "Building a just world and a sustainable world."

On the margin of his participation in the G20 Meeting, FAO Director-General QU Dongyu met with State Secretary of Agriculture and Food of Norway, H.E. Wenche Westberg, to discuss ongoing collaboration and explore new avenues of cooperation between FAO and Norway.

FAO Director-General met also with H.E. Ophelia Nick, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture of Germany, to exchange views on the current global food security situation and to discuss ongoing and future collaboration between FAO and Germany.

On the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Brazil, FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Manpower and of Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore. This meeting took place following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) extending the partnership between Singapore and FAO for a third term.
