BRAZIL 2022. Small-scale fisheries and small-scale aquaculture (NFI)
22 November 2022, Maraã, Brazil - A fisherman from the Capivara community, close to Tefé, carries a Pirarucu fish to the boat to take it to the floating warehouse where it will be processed. The management of Pirarucu ( Arapaima gigas ) is one of the main sustainable economic activities in the Amazon, bringing income to riverside populations and helping to preserve the environment.
