Biopesticides used to combat Red Locust outbreak in Eastern Africa
22 May 2009, Iku-Katavi - A high capacity Turbo Thrash spray aircraft taking off from Mpanda airfield for aerial control operations. With a capacity of about 800 litres, it can cover 800 hectares per sortie. Normally 2-3 sorties are undertaken per day, depending on wind and weather conditions. Best coverage is achieved in the morning before noon.
