Corn examined in Ghana
Grains of corn being examined at the government owned Winneba Farm in the Accra area in the south of Ghana. - - Post Harvest and Food Storage Control. A joint project between FAO and the Government of Ghana commenced in 1983, which aims at increasing the availability of food by means of the reduction of post-harvest losses through insect and bird damage, and to improve the quality of food. The immediate aims of the project are to collect basic information on field activities and post-harvest losses in selected areas and identify problems, to provide a detailed and workable project document for the establishment of a coordinated national programme of action, research and development, and training and information in the prevention of post-harvest food losses.
