FAO project OSRO/EGY/801/USA - Strengthening Avian Influenza Detection and Response (SAIDR) in Egypt. Vaccine efficacy for the control of Avian Influenza in Egypt. To assist the Government of Egypt in its efforts to control and eradicate HPAI in the domestic poultry population and avoid the risks of human infection. Objectives are: Identification of antigenic variants among field variants, including existing and newly isolates collected, to obtain a representative sample of circulating HPAI viruses across all sectors and determination of the ability of currently available/used vaccines to provide protection against each identified isolate.
