15 October 2018, Puntland, Somalia - With the support of the EU Operation Atalanta, FAO is training local women in Somalia to process and preserve fish fresh off fishing boats along the coast in Puntland. Instructors, taught through FAO's Trainer of Trainers programme, demonstrate techniques on scaling, gutting and filleting freshly-caught fish, as well as how to preserve fish using locally-built fiberglass drying racks designed by FAO, which harness the sun's direct solar power.
