This FAO project is designed to assist the government in the promotion of coffee as a cash crop. FAO experts and volunteers are teaching farmers the various aspects of cultivation, including the use of fertilizer in order to produce large coffee crops of superior quality. Some farmers are also learning techniques of drying coffee. The project began in 1979 and has been extended to the end of 1986.
