Background Information Under the Jharkhand Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Growth (JOHAR) programme – implemented by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), supported by FAO and financed by the World Bank – producer groups and smallholders now have easier access to mechanization. In partnership with JFarm Services, a TAFE initiative, JOHAR has helped connect farmers to a statewide network of CHCs operating across all 24 districts of Jharkhand. Using the app or toll-free helpline, farmers can book tractors, implements and advanced machinery – including balers, zero-till seed drills and sprayers – without needing to purchase their own, reducing costs and boosting productivity.
