FAO is training farmers in Bangladesh on how to dry and store grains properly to reduce post-harvest losses as part of the FAO project: UTF/BGD/040/BGD - Emergency Cyclone Recovery and Restoration Project (ECCRP). To introduce technologies to improve land use during the boro and aus seasons (i.e. the dry season during which large areas of land are not suitable for growing crops due to high salinity levels and water shortages) and, other improved production techniques and practices to improve the resilience of communities and households in cyclone-prone areas to future disasters.
