NEPAL 1966. Rinderpest
Nepal, 1966. Rinderpest-infected goats are the source of the valuable vaccine. Rinderpest, a deadly cattle disease, is on the decline in Asia and the Far East following intensive vaccination campaigns. Only in Afghanistan, India, Laos and Vietnam are still significantly affected by this disease, which until a few years ago was still wiping out millions of cattle yearly. In Nepal an FFHC project has been under way for two years in an effort to create an immune belt along the Indian border.
