29 March 2011, Rome - Portrait of Saverio Marco Fiorilla, Director, Lancisi Library, at St. Spirito Hospital Complex in Rome. In 1715 Giovanni Maria Lancisi produced a groundbreaking book-length manuscript in which he made several recommendations on how to deter the spread of the devastating cattle plague. A compilation of his writings begun in 1711 is kept in the Lancisi Library collection at S. Spirito Hospital complex.
