South Sudan, 2015. Fishing from canoe
January 2016, Nyal, South Sudan - The fishing grounds are located deep into the swamps, approximately 5 hours by canoe, since the water is receding according to seasonal patterns and fish in shorter supply close to shore. As a result traders peddle between the different fishing grounds and buy the fish from the fishermen to take the market, at a large profit. The fishermen received fishing nets through an FAO distribution.
