Abdideeq Yusuf, FAO Animal Health Officer in Somaliland, helps the staff grind prosopis pods in Beerato, Somalia on 7th December 2020. Everyday, these machines produce 300-500kg of ground prosopis powder, 300kg in pellet form and 40 blocks of prosopis. FAO Somalia supports several livestock and agricultural programmes in the Toghdeer region, Somaliland, which train farmers and pastoralists various methods to deal with and diminish the effects of drought in the region.
