Sustainable Urban School Gardens - TFD-00/PER/003: The project aims at creating sustainable school gardens. The school chosen is the Divina Misercordia which specializes in educating hearing impaired and mentally handicapped children. The garden is sponsored by Telefood which is an on-going FAO campaign aimed at raising awareness of world hunger as well as money for small-scale projects such as this to enable people to feed themselves. Telefood provides funds, seeds, tools and training. The Ministry of Agriculture's National Institute for Agrarian Research, INIA, provides technical support in executing the project as well as its irrigation systems.
