UKRAINE 2024. Various FAO projects and areas of work across the country
6 March 2024. Khersonska oblast, Ukraine. Ms. Halyna, 69, has lived her entire life in Vysokopillya, Khersonska oblast, enduring over nine months of occupation during the war. Her home and garden were damaged by shelling, and much of the village was destroyed, with most residents never returning. Relying on her cow for sustenance during the occupation, Halyna describes it as her "breadwinner" and "second life." With FAO's support, she received vouchers for veterinary medicine, animal feed, and shelter rehabilitation, which she plans to use for rebuilding her hayloft.
