Professor Dr Von Braun is Chair of the Scientific Group for the United Nations Secretary-General’s Food Systems Summit. He is The Director of the Center for Development Research , Bonn University, and Professor for economic and technological change.

Dr. Von Braun is also President of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences of the Vatican and a member of the Board of Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)

Prof. Dr. Von Braun's research addresses economic development, science and technology policy, poverty reduction, food and nutrition security, agriculture, resource economics and trade

His lecture today is on “The Role of Policy, Innovation, Bio-economy and the Sustainable Development Goals in Agri-Food System Transformation”
