World Food Day 2025 President Xi Jinping of China congratulatory message
On October 16th, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) commemorated World Food Day and its 80th anniversary with a landmark event in Rome. Hosted by FAO Director-General QU Dongyu, the celebration brought together prominent global figures. President Xi Jinping of China sent a congratulatory message delivered by Han Jun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.

Dear Director-General Qu Dongyu, distinguished guests, friends, colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, good morning!
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China has sent a congratulatory letter. On behalf of the Chinese government, I now respectfully read out President Xi Jinping's message.
Congratulatory Message: On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations. As an international organization with extensive influence in the field of food and agriculture, and carrying out the noble mission of providing food for all, the FAO has played a vital role in ensuring global food security, promoting rural development and transforming food systems, and improving the living standards of people in all countries. The Chinese government attaches great importance to food security and is committed to relying solely on its own resources to feed its over 1.4 billion people. We also provide assistance to countries in need to the best of our ability, contributing China's strength to ensuring global food security.
China will, as always, support the important role played by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in the international food and agriculture sector. China is willing to work with the international community to implement global development initiatives, advance the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, and make new and greater contributions to improving the well-being of peoples of all countries.
