Through the Jharkhand Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Growth (JOHAR) programme – implemented by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), supported by FAO and financed by the World Bank – producer groups are gaining easy access to mechanization. In partnership with JFarm Services, a TAFE initiative, JOHAR connects farmers to a statewide network of Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs) across all 24 districts of Jharkhand. The app and toll-free helpline link small and marginal farmers with tractors, implements and advanced machinery – such as balers, zero-till seed drills and sprayers – enabling them to rent equipment without the burden of ownership
