Background Information
Agri-marts like this one play a vital role in supporting smallholder producers with access to high-quality, affordable inputs such as organic manure, pest control products, seeds and tools. Implemented by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) with support from FAO and financing from the World Bank, these agri-marts help ensure farmers can adopt high-value agriculture practices and improve yields. Serving multiple blocks, the centres make timely access to essential supplies possible, boosting productivity and reducing dependence on distant or unreliable markets.
