The main project objective is the promotion of small holder palm oil production with the long term aim of crop diversification, import substitution, food and health security and poverty alleviation. (The Mumias Sugar Company has an industrial background and out-grower schemes involving thousands of smallholders, a large proportion of which also belong to the Farmer Field School FFS networks).
