European Union Food Facility and Purchase for Progress Project
05 July 2011, Katutu - Men removing chaff and pebbles from corn kernels at a WFP storage facility. As part of the Purchase for Progress (P4P) Project, FAO supplies farmers with tools, seeds, and technical training to help them increase their production. WFP then purchases some of the corn and brings it to a storage facility, where it is sorted to ensure quality, and rebagged. The corn is then either sold on the market, or used for WFP programs such as school feeding or food aid.
