FAO Project: GTFS/GAM/025/ITA - National Programme Food Security in The Gambia. Project Objective: Agricultural productivity, marketed output and incomes of project beneficiary farmer-based organizations and small scale agro-processors increased on a sustainable basis, resulting in improved livelihoods and food security.
Expected Outcomes: 
(i) farmer-based organizations equipped with relevant capacity building skills for farmer groups and agro-processors; 
(ii) farmer groups engage in improved value addition and marketing activities and/or enter into improved contractual relationships with market agents; and
(iii) The outcomes will be achieved by efficient and effective project coordination and M&E mechanisms, integrated in-district structures, in-loco and regional cooperation improved. It is envisaged to strengthen a total of approximately forty farmer groups in the two regions.
