Cook Islands, 2014. Farmyard pigs snouts
18 August 2014, Aitutaki, Cook Islands - Three pigs. When the islands were first inhabited, Polynesians brought with them Pigs, Goats and Fowl, according to Captain Cook's diaries. Cook is credited with 'discovering' the Cook Islands. Of course, they had been 'discovered' long before. Pigs, goats and chickens remain the prevalent livestock cross the islands: cows and horses are seen rarely.
