FAO Project: OSRO/BDI/902/ITA - Contribution to the alleviation of soaring food prices of basic foodstuffs to improve production capacities of vulnerable households. Diminishing the negative impact of soaring food prices of basic foodstuffs and climate change on food security of vulnerable populations. To increase production for vulnerable households through intensive market gardening and in particular to raise and intensify harvest levels of potatoes in a short time (3 months at most). To reduce harmful effects of climactic fluctuations (recurring drought) and increase cultivatable land for households who have limited access through the promotion manual water pumps. To reinforce capacity of producers through Farmer Field Schools already tested in other countries by FAO.
