Guatemala, Tejutla, June 2018
ASADIT, an association of farmers that supplies to the Rural School Village El Horizonte and 62 other schools.
The members of ASADIT and the Comercializadora La Comunitaria produce chard, carrots, radishes, bananas, apples, cabbage, corn and beans, fresh eggs, fresh cheese, honey, among others.
ASADIT has 38 active members, representing the same number of families.
In 2015 they started a process of crop diversification and now produce vegetables in a staggered manner.
The project executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, FAO and with the financial support of the Government of Sweden, has helped them to strengthen organizational capacities and links to schools.
