28 May 2019, Ittifok, Tajikistan - The Mirzosharipov family having dinner outdoors, breaking the daily fasting of Ramadan. They sit on the traditional outdoor "sofa" (karavot) to eat soup, traditional flat bread, home-made yoghurt, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
The family received a matching grant and business training to start a small agribusiness under the "Developing Capacity for Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Selected Countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia" project. The ultimate goal is to channel remittances of the seasonal labour migrant father into something productive, and, eventually, prevent him for migration in the future.
