CENTRE FOR HORTICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, Senegal, 1979 - Examining a sweet potato crop being grown experimentally at the Cambérene Horticultural Centre.
This project is jointly undertaken by the Government and FAO and is financed by Belgium. The purpose is the creation of a centre at Camberéne for experimentation and demonstration of horticultural crops and for studies in the marketing of vegetables; also the establishment of sound basic techniques which will enable the Senegalese grower to increase his yields and diversify his crops; to satisfy local requirements for vegetables; to increase incomes; to improve the diet of the local population and to promote the exportation of out-of-season vegetables.
