Exact date unknown CENTRE FOR HORTICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, Senegal, 1977 - A Senegalese counterpart expert examines an experimental horticultural crop. This joint project is undertaken by the Government and FAO through and associate expert financed by Belgium. The purpose of the project is the creation of a centre at Camberéne for experimentation and demonstration of horticultural crops and for studies in the marketing of vegetables; also the establishment of sound basic techniques which will enable the Senegalese grower to increase his yields and diversify his crops; to satisfy local requirements for vegetables; to increase incomes; to improve the diet of the local population and to promote the exportation of out-of-season vegetables.
