GAMBIA 2017. GCP/GAM/026/EC - Improving Food Security through Crop Production Intensification and School Feeding in The Gambia
09 November 2017, Gambia - An farmer milking a cow in a local village. FAO has distributed farm inputs worth over US$ 623,000.00 to over 6,500 food insecure households in The Gambia. This FAO-supported programme covered households in the North Bank Region (NBR), Lower River Region (LRR), Central River Region (CRR) and Upper River Region (URR)). These regions have stunting rates above the national average. The intervention aims to reverse the trend through increased crops (rice, maize, groundnuts) production and productivity.
