21 December 2016, Cotabato Province, Philippines - Water buffalos (also called carabaos) arrive onsite to be distributed to disaster-affected farming communities in the Municipality of Pigkawayan. These animals are used for draught power.
The primary objective of this New Zealand-funded FAO project is to contribute to the attainment of sustainable peace and development in the province by supporting the government in the restoration and building the resilience of agriculture- and fisheries-based livelihoods affected by conflict, drought and flooding.
