Background Information
FAO has developed the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative to build more sustainable food value chains of Special Agricultural Products (SAPs). The OCOP initiative was globally launched by the FAO Director-General in September 2021 with the overall objective of increasing access to healthy diets, improving farmers’ livelihoods and economic growth and reducing food loss and waste while minimizing the use of chemical inputs and natural resources as well as the negative impacts on the environment and biodiversity.
