Background Information The FAO-China-Uganda South-South Cooperation (SSC) project is the longest-running SSC project under the FAO-China SSC Programme. From 2012 to 2018, two phases of the project were implemented with the deployment of 47 Chinese experts and technicians to provide technical assistance and capacity-building support across a wide range of technical and thematic areas, including crop production, animal husbandry, and aquaculture.

Owing to the successes of the previous two phases, the governments of China and Uganda agreed in 2019 to implement Phase III of the FAO-China-Uganda SSC Project. This three-year project aims to consolidate the results achieved during the first two phases by scaling up and commercializing Improved Chinese Agricultural Technologies to enhance production, productivity, and profitability.
