05 November 2025 Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan. The FAO Resilience Team for Africa, led by the Team Leader Cyril Ferrand, kicked off the vaccination campaign in Aweil. In South Sudan, the EU-funded Pastoralism and Livestock Adaptation to Climate Change in Eastern Africa (PLACE) programme is working to increase the number of healthy herds in the crossborder areas of the Karamoja and Bahr el arab-Kiir Clusters, with targeted vaccination drives, animal disease surveillance, and awareness campaigns.
