FAO project OSRO/GLO/109/GER - Phase 1: Livelihood response to mitigate impacts of desert locust invasion on food security and livelihoods
04 November 2021, Saka Junction, Garissa, Kenya - A woman gives water to her livestock at a water point. The combined effects of crop and pasture losses caused by desert locust, COVID-19 related mitigation measures, and consecutive below-average rainy seasons have placed communities in the arid and semi-arid lands of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia at risk of severe food insecurity and loss of livelihood.
