Global Crop Diversity Trust Executive Director Cary Fowler (left), FAO Director-General Jacques Diouf (center) and the artist (right) at the unveiling ceremony of Japanese artist Mitsuaki Tanabe's rice sculpture entitled "Momi-2008". The work was donated by the artist to the Global Crop Diversity Trust at FAO headquarters, Rome, Italy on 01 April 2008. The sculpture was installed by a window in front of the Trust's offices and represents a seed of Oryza meridionalis, which is found in northern Australia.
