17 12 2023, Satun, Thailand – Complex branches of black sun coral (Tubastraea micranthus) provide habitat for juvenile fishes in the reefs of the Adang-Rawi Archipelago. The black sun coral is an unusual hard coral as it lacks the symbiotic relationship with zooxanthellae that provide the ability to photosynthesis and rely solely on filter feeding on detritus particles in the current and planktonic preys.
