Background Information
Parsekhali Semi-Intensive Matshochasi Somittee, a Community Based Organization (CBO) group with 25 farmers under GCP/BGD/055/LDF project in Shyamnagar sub-district. They have harvested at least 600kg giant shrimp (Penaeus monodon) from their 130 decimal pond within 05months culture period by practicing semi-intensive culture technology. All the 25 CBO members are very happy to see their good yields. The yield from this short period of culture system for the farmers is very beneficial under the disaster prone area like Shyamnagar, the southern part of coastal region of Bangladesh.
