Background Information Asma was displaced from Kaduna and now lives and works from an apartment in Abuja. She produces and exports locally-made products such as drinks, honey, honey wax, shea butter and many more. The Empowerment of Women in Agrifood Trade (EWAT) program is a partnership between FAO and the International Trade Centre (ITC) and operates at the intersection of gender empowerment and the agrifood sector within the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The initiative aims to create a tangible socio-economic impact by amplifying women’s roles and contributions in agricultural trade, seeking to both empower and enhance livelihoods.
