The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as executing agency, together with a national team of officers from the "Centre National PàȤagogique Agricole", aim to improve agricultural techniques and increase of yields through training and extension activities. Pilot extension operations will be conducted on holdings and farms in six districts representing the main ecological zones of the country. Priority will be given to major staples, market garden crops, fruit trees, Saharan crops, poultry-keeping, sheep, cattle and small animal raising.
