Background Information
Hills Leasehold Forestry and Forage Development Project: GCP/NEP/049/NET. This project, financed by the Netherlands and executed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) started in 1993. As a result of forest and pasture degradation in the project area, the quality of rural life has decreased. The condition of natural resources as well as to raise the income of families who are below the poverty line in, among others, Kavre district.
